Meltdown 2010 is a youth retreat open to all youth, grades 6-12. January 29-31. We will meet and leave from the church at 4pm on Friday (29th) and return to the church at 2pm on Sunday (31st). It will be held at a Condo/Conference Center in Panama City Beach (I will post the exact location when it is released). Cost is $99. 

Everything is included! Yes, even the food! Any snacks you might want to bring, you are welcome to. We will be staying in the hotel on the beach so all the amenities that are usually associated with that are available. Swimming is allowed (if I hear otherwise I will be sure an post it) so bring a swimsuit if you would like to swim. We will also have plenty of time to play volleyball, football, frisbee, etc...on the beach, so bring clothes that will be comfortable for that.  Meltdown is a weekend of total emersion in God and ministry. We will be spending time in worship, being led by Jeff Johnson. The guest speaker this year is Jared Herd, who serves as the Teaching Pastor at Rock Harbor Church in Costa Mesa, CA. The weekend will be packed with activities. There are numerous small group sessions throughout the weekend that focus on topics ranging from “dealing with your peers” to “so you want to be a preacher?” No one will be forced to attend any one particular session, but you will be encouraged to pick one to attend! We want to take full advantage of what they offer! There is always a surprise concert on Saturday night. They have yet to release the name of the band that will be playing. If they do, I will be sure and post it!  They will also have a number of items for sale throughout the weekend; a wide range of t-shirts, cd’s, stickers, hats, etc...so bring extra $$$ if you want to be able to purchase anything!  Any questions or concerns, please feel free to email them to jason@cecfwb.org.

30 Hour Famine is a 30 hour period of fasting (going without food) that starts (for us anyways) at 6:00 A.M. on February 26th and goes until Noon on Saturday.  We will be hosting an all-night lock-in here at the church, during which we will watch videos, play games, and then eventually break the fast with lunch (bring $5 with you for that!) at Noon on Saturday. Come anytime after school and the doors will be locked at 6p.m. At that point, whoever is inside...stays inside! 

We will be raising money for World Vision (sponsor of 30 Hour Famine) in the weeks leading up to this event; get with Jason Anderson to get your packet. Our goal as a group is $1,800. That will feed 5 families in need for a year!!! If you, or any of your friends might be interested in participating, there are plenty of tools here at the church that I can give you to help with raising money.
